Advocate YOU
Mo Bailey, Certified Coach
Avoid the Cracks with Educated Facts, Tools & Resources
Fulfilling someone’s needs requires information, education, tools, skills and knowledge of how things work
within the systems you are dealing.

Advocate YOU™ is about doing the right thing and justice for all!  If you feel attacked, unheard or
overwhelmed,  it is typically because you lack a degree of knowledge or support. This is often emotional.
Dealing with acceptance of diagnoses, living in wonderment about futures, and getting needs met in an
appropriate manner can be overwhelming. Sometimes it feels like an uphill and constant battle. At times the
reality is that 'fair' and 'right' get caught up in budgets, badgering or bureaucracy. However, with the right
tools, you CAN be instrumental in the change you seek.

Mo Bailey educates
educators, families & businesses on how disabilities and challenges (especially the
‘fall through the cracks’ kind)
affect the bottom line in endeavors…AND she gives you skills on how to do
something significant and good about it. Note that the goal is for a win-win situation!

You are in a rampant age of Alzheimer’s, ADHD, Autism Spectrum’s, Accident and Age-related hormone
changes and
so much more including the “Swine blues” (anxiety of getting this strain of flu).

As cliché as this might sound,
consider this:
    a)        Ignorant behavior often stems from fear.
    b)        Fear is diffused with knowledge.
    c)        With knowledge you have power.
    d)        With power comes great responsibility.
    e)        You are not only responsible for what you say, but also for what you do not say
    f)         When good men do nothing, evil prevails!

Perhaps something that seems so basic (almost invisible, yet also more insidious than most people
realize) is easily a “fall through the cracks” issue you are concerned about?

‘Some’ examples are:
    •        Distorted hearing, etc. = Auditory processing, etc.
    •        Hand /Eye co-ordination, etc. = Visual Motor integration, etc.
    •        Non-Verbal communication & Language deficits, etc. = Speech & Language, etc.
    •        Fine or Gross Motor, etc. = Occupational Therapy, etc.
    •        Unusual responses to touch & movement = Sensory Integration, etc.

    …yet there are many more!

Pay Attention: Even just one degree of change can initiate a new path. The key is to know which path to
take, the stride to take it in and which shoes to wear when you walk it!

You can walk in as an advocate, a parent, an administrator, a boss or the role you perceive others to
place you in by association of 'who's side' you are on. However, if you communicate with grace,
knowledge and compassion - not just of that who you advocate for, yet also the constraints of those
who are blocking your way, you set up the beginnings of a 'team decision' more likely to incorporate
    integrity in the final outcome.

You are able to diffuse some of 'the fight' and be productive. This starts the change in a new path.
Once on that path, you must know the best road to take and maintain the momentum to get there. What
is meant by 'what shoes to wear' - "they better not be heals if you are on a track field!"

Case in point: You’re dealing with ‘hot water’ at 99 degrees Celcius. Yet if you get just one more
point across or take a point just one degree further... 100 degrees is ‘boiling water’ and that’s when
    you really start cooking!
